Ethics in Game Design
This course examines the ethical implications of game
creation with an emphasis on conscientious design
practices. Students will learn about and explore ethical issues including various philosophical conceptions of
ethics and morality, representations of sex, gender, race,
and violence, and examine the social and political
pressures applied to games as entertainment and
instigators of personal, social, cultural, and/or political
change.
Prerequisites: DD220 or UX205 and Registration
Status: senior student in Honours GDD Program.
